It won’t be the first time Hudson will be judging a singing talent-show – she appeared on the most recent season of the UK version of the The Voice, which concluded only a month ago.

The Oscar and Grammy award winner will now appear on the US version of the same show, along with former coaches, Miley Cyrus, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton.

The announcement was made by NBC on 10th May as the network’s entertainment president, Paul Telegdy, stated:

“Jennifer is an extraordinary vocal talent and one of the premier voices of our time. She embodies the experience, expertise, positivity and sheer talent that The Voice stands for. Her exceptional skills as a singer and actress have extended to film, television and Broadway, which makes her an incredible addition and a natural fit for our show.”

Jennifer, who herself was discovered in one of the most popular singing-talent shows in the US, ‘American Idol’, seems to have come full circle as she sits in the coaches panel now. Her sting on The Voice UK proved to be quite successful as the singer and actress was the winning coach of the show’s 6th season which also featured – will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Gavin Rossdale as fellow coaches.

Jennifer Hudson is also said to be working on a new studio album presently. Her last studio effort, JHUD, was released almost 3 years ago, back in 2014 and performed modestly on the charts peaking at #10 on Billboard Top 200.

This is indeed a good news for her fans, who were missing on hearing that voice during this gap and might get to hear some more from those powerful set of pipes every now and then on the show.
