Kendrick Lamar’s latest album ‘Damn’ certified Platinum in the US: Becomes fastest seller of 2017

Within 3 weeks of it’s release Kendrick Lamar’s latest studio offering, “Damn” has already been certified platinum by the recording industry association of America (RIAA).

Lamar’s fourth studio project, ‘Damn’ opened with widespread critical acclaim, receiving a score of 95 out of 100 at Metacritic. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums charts, with sales of over 600K and sold over 240K in it’s second week. Nearing the completion of it’s third week of release, the album crossed the 1 million mark in sales in the United sales alone, earning a platinum certification.

This is Lamar’s third consecutive #1 album in the US. The 29 year old rapper also released the lead single from the album entitled ‘Humble’ on March 30th, which debuted at #2 and later on peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. ‘Humble’ is Kendrick’s first single as a solo lead artist to top the singles chart in the US.

The album also faired well in the UK with sales of over 30K in it’s first week, debuting at number two on the UK albums chart.
