Brandom was left aghast after his date started texting only 15 minutes into the movie. He told the Autin American-Stateman, “It was kind of a first date from hell.”

Vezmar’s petition states that the woman , “activated her phone at least 10-20 times in 15 minutes to read and send text messages.”

When he asked her to stop using her cellphone, she refused and went out of the theater. Vezmar complains that not only did she never come back, but she also took her car along with her – leaving Brandon without a ride.

Brandon’s petition, further reads, “While damages sought are modest, the principle is important as defendant’s behavior is a threat to civilized society.”

When the newspaper approached the woman for her comments, she expressed her shock stating, “I’m not a bad woman. I just went out on a date.”
