Mary J. Blige to be inducted in the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Mary J. Blige has added another feather to her cap – the Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk Fame in the 2018 classic of inductees. The ‘Just Fine’ hit-maker will be honored with a star for her outstanding contributions in the field of music.Blige has had her hands full in 2017 so far – with the release of her thirteenth studio album, ‘Strength Of A Woman’ and several live performances in promotion of the project and the accompanying singles. The singer-songwriter is also scheduled to perform at the 2017 BET awards, where she has received two nominations.

Apart from Blige, Snoop Dogg and Carrie Underwood will also be inducted for their musical achievements.

Oscar nominated actress Taraji P. Henson will be inducted for her achievements in the field of Television and Motion pictures. The 46 year old actress has appeared in movies like Hidden Figures, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Karate Kid and Think Like a Man. Other inductees from film and television include: RuPaul, Anthony Anderson, Shonda Rhimes, Niecy Nash, F. Gary Gray and actress Zoe Saldana.

Other inductees in the list include: Lin-Manuel Miranda, Minnie Mouse, Kirsten Dunst, Jack Black, Jennifer Lawrence, Carrie Underwood, and Simon Cowell.Although, Blige has been in the business longer than most of the other honorees, and has had several multi-platinum and award-winning projects to her name – it’s great to hear she’s finally get her due.
