Mariah Carey’s little guess appearance on the upcoming comedy flick, ‘The House’ seems to be garnering a lot of negative press for the Diva.
Although, her brief moment did not actually make the final cut, her on-set co-stars complain about her over-the-top demands and expectations during the shooting of the film, terming it ‘abusive’ and ‘unprofessional.’
The latest in-line to lash out at the Pop superstar is comedian Cedric Yarbrough who plays a ‘newbie gambler’ in the film. Citing her involvement with the project as ‘Borderline abusive’ Yarbrough slammed Carey in a Facebook post, stating “While we waited, the director and team had the idea of doing a stunt that Mariah’s body double would do now and bring in Mariah to match it. They do the stunt. All goes well. When Mariah finally showed up she refused to match the stunt.”
Recalling hearing Mariah say, “Darling, I would never do it that way…”, Cedric said the cameo that was supposed to be ‘real funny’ was ruined by the superstar.
Cedrick’s backlash comes only a day after Will Farrell, who’s the lead star of the Andrew J. Cohen directed comedy, made an appearance on the Late Show with Seth Meyers, and gave some mild hints about what happened behind the scenes.
“There were … suggestions that weren’t executed,” he said. “She was on our set and yeah, things happened and didn’t happen.”
“Let’s just put it this way: at about midnight I got a knock on my trailer that said, ‘You can just go home. We’re not going to get to you,’ Ferrell told Meyers. “‘But are we still filming?’ ‘We’re still filming.’ And all for naught.”
‘Going-in’ on Carey further in his post, Yarbrough alleges that the singer-songwriter made them wait 3-4 hours on the set, after showing up late. “She then requested a large fan for her hair to be blown around and a camera that would be above her, basically a crane shot. This lady was unprofessional and borderline abusive to our director, who tried his best to appease her every wish,” Yarbrough recalled.
“This kind of behaviour should be called out for what it is. I miss ‘I had a vision of love’ Mariah. Be a damn professional,” Cedrick concluded his rant.
