Beyonce or Lindsay Lohan? Madame Tussauds’ “whitened’ version of Bee leaves people confused

Madame Tussauds has landed itself into a controversy with the unveiling of their latest figurine on Pop superstar, Beyonce Knowles.

The wax figure that looks ‘almost white’ basically appears nothing like her – even if you put aside the complexion.

Some people said it looked more like Lindsay Lohan, others found more resemblance with Kate Hudson and Faith Evans. Basically, anyone but Beyonce.

“That’s not Beyonce, but “Becky with the good hair.”” – one Twitter user wrote. “Beyoncé wax figure makers have never seen Beyoncé” – claimed another user citing other instances when museums couldn’t get Bee’s wax figures right.

The intense criticism faced by Tussauds, forced them to finally release an official statement on the same, in which they cited “bad lighting” as the reason for the statue to appear so white.

In a statement to TMZ, the company wrote, “Our talented team of sculptors takes every effort to ensure we accurately colour match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted. Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the colour of our wax figures.”

There is still no excuse for this travesty – since its not a matter of a few inches, but MILES of differences between the statue and the real deal.

Thoughts?
