Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington dead at 41

Linkin Park frontman, Chester Bennington has died .

The 41 year old committed suicide by hanging himself in his Palos Verdes home near Los Angeles, as reported by TMZ.

The incident occurred on Thursday morning, shortly after which Law enforcement officials found his body at around 9 A.M, and confirmed that he had died.

Bennington, who had a long battle with drugs and alcohol additions, had six children from two marriages.

Linkin Park has been recognized as one of the most celebrated bands in Rock music, since their debut album, 'Hybrid Theory' released back in 2000. They had several other multi-platinum successes with projects like, 'Meteora', 'Minutes To Midnight', 'A Thousand Sun's - to name a few.

Some of their biggest hits singles include, 'Numb', 'In The End', 'What I've Done', 'New Divide', 'Breaking The Habit', among several others.

In a career spanning over 2 decades, the band sold over 70 million records worldwide, winning two Grammy's and cementing their legacy as one of the greatest Rock bands of all time.



Linkin Park band-mate Mike Shinoda has also expressed his grief and shock on Twitter following Bennington's death. "shocked and heartbroken, but it's true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one," he said.

Chester's death is a huge blow to the music industry.
