Britney Spears will be donating a small portion of her concert ticket sales to the public schools of Louisiana, which were affected by 2016 flooding.
The ‘Womanizer’ singer will be giving $1 from every ticket sold of her Las Vegas series of concerts.
The collected money will go to public schools of Louisiana in partnership with the Louisiana School Boards Association.
Spears, who’s also native to Kentwood, Louisiana – will concentrate the first batch of the funds, in restoring public schools affected by last summer’s floods, by providing the teachers with instructional materials.
Scott Richard, who’s the executive direct of the Louisiana School Boards Association, also credited Louisiana first lady Donna Edwards – who happens to be friends with Britney’s mother Lynne Spears and helped the singer connect with the association.
“I am so proud to be able to give back to my home state and help the Louisiana School Boards Association,” Spears said in a statement. “I can’t wait to see all my amazing fans when I return to Vegas for my last run of shows this year!”
