Pink to be honored with “Michael Jackson Vanguard” award at 2017 MTV VMAs

Pink will receive the coveted honor of Michael Jackson Vanguard award at the upcoming MTV VMAs.The news was confirmed by the show’s producers who made the announcement on 15 August, citing her “trailblazing impact on music, pop culture, fashion and philanthropy,” as the ground for choosing the 3-time Grammy winner for the honor.

The Michael Jackson Vanguard award was first presented in 1984 and was renamed in 1991, to honor Michael Jackson – the prestigious honor has since been given to artists like Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Rihanna, U2 and more.

With a new album lined up for a release on 13 October, the next few months are going to see her star shine bright.

Pink has been in the music biz for over 17 years and has released several out-of-the-box and socially conscious songs and music videos. With visuals like ‘Fu*kin’ Pefect’, ‘Family Affair’, ‘Try’, ‘Don’t Let Me Get Me’, ‘Please Don’t Leave Me’ among several others – Pink boasts of a catalog that makes her very much deserving of the honor.
