Jay Z and his team are pouring all the creative juices on his ambitious new studio project, 4:44.
The platinum selling record has already produced some eye-popping visuals for singles like ‘The Story of O.J.’ and ‘Adnis’ – and is being hailed has one of the best albums of the year so far.
The 47 year old legendary MC recently dropped another out-of-the-box music video for his new single from the album, ‘Moonlight’ – which is nothing short of beguiling to say the least.
Featuring a bit-by-bit replica of 90’s classic sitcom, ‘Friends’ – with an all-black cast which includes – Lil Rel Howery, Lakeith Stanfield, Jerrod Carmichael, Issa Rae, Tiffany Haddish, Tessa Thompson and Hannibal Buress – the Alan Yang directed video attempts to strongly take a jibe at Hollywood’s ‘diversity problem.’
“It’s like a subtle nod to ‘La La Land’ winning the Oscar, and then having to give it to ‘Moonlight,’ ” Jay-Z previously said while speaking with iHeart Radio. “It’s really a commentary on the culture and where we’re going.”
