Legendary singer Natalie Cole’s son, Robert Yancy, found dead at 39

Late RnB songstress, Natalie Cole’s only son, Robert Yancy has died.

Yancy was found unresponsive in his apartment on Monday, and at around 2:30 AM Tuesday – the authorities contacted the family members to inform them of the tragedy. He was 39.

Law officials have ruled out any involvement of drugs and have listed it as – death due to natural causes – most probably a heart attack. However, the actual cause will be determined once a toxicology report and autopsy is performed.

Yancy’s family have cleared that the grand son of the legendary Nat King Cole, did not use or abuse any sort of drugs, despite his mother, struggling with substance addiction for a major part of her life.

Natalie Cole had died of a congestive heart failure back in 2015.

Robert was Natalie’s only child with songwriter and producer Marvin Yancy, whom she married in the year 1976. Marvin also died of a heart attack in the year 1985, at the age of 35.

Sending thoughts and prayers to Yancy’s family and friends.
