The Grammy winning star, backed off from her headlining spot on the event only a day before it was supposed to take place and had to go under medical care.
Gaga had recently confirmed that she suffers from a disease called fibromyalgia - a disorder characterized by widespread chronic muscular pain and fatigue.
To avoid any disruption on the show, Maroon 5 were added as a replacement to the singer at a very short notice, but the organizers are willing to issue refunds to the attendees who do not wish to see it anymore.
Gaga also uploaded a picture of her hand on Instagram, as she received IV after being taken to a hospital.
"I'm devastated that I'm not well enough to come to Rock In Rio," the singer wrote. "promise that I will come back and perform for you soon."
