Serena Williams gives birth to baby girl

Serena Williams’ first baby is finally here and it’s a girl.

The tennis legend has delivered her first child with fiance Alexis Ohanian, who she got engaged with in December 2016.

The 35 year old ace athlete, went into labour Wednesday night and was admitted to a hospital in Palm Beach, Florida.

However, the 23-time Grand slam winner has not confirmed the news yet, Serena’s coach Patrick Mouratoglou, did publicly congratulate her on her newborn. “I am so happy for you and I feel your emotion,” he wrote on Twitter.

“Btw … I wish you a speedy recovery… we have a lot of work ahead of us,” Patrick further added.

The news was further confirmed by the official Twitter handle for US Open Tennis, who congratulated the athlete on becoming a mother.

Serena confirmed the news of her pregnancy back in April, when she shared a picture of her little baby bump while being 20 weeks into her pregnancy. 

“I just want to put that out there. That’s, like, three months after I give birth,” she said.
