NeNe Leakes tells female audience member, “I hope your Uber driver rapes you”

NeNe Leakes is known to be a loud-mouth.

The reality TV star, who also appears on the latest season of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’, was recently performing a stand-up show in Oakland and held none of her thoughts back as some of audience members attempted to boo her off the stage.

Immediately after the booing sound was heard from the audience, Leakes lashed out at a female member in the crowd stating that she hope she gets raped by an Uber driver on her ride back home.

It is unclear yet, whether NeNe’s remarks were triggered by something else apart from the heckling crowd which just couldn’t get into her act and booed her all along.

Nevertheless, a distasteful comment or a “supposed-joke” on a subject as sensitive as this is not acceptable at all.

Meanwhile, Uber’s rep has also come forward criticizing Leakes for her distastesful reference in a statement.

Here’s what they said:

“Wishing the trauma and violence of rape on anyone is nothing to joke about. Comments like these disrespect those affected by sexual assault and minimizes the seriousness of a societal issue that affects millions.”
