WATCH: RARE footage of Selena Quintanilla singing English version of ‘Bidi Bidi Bom Bom’

A few days ago, Google Doodle payed homage to Selena Quintanilla on the anniversary of her debut album release, and now fans of the late singer have another reason to reminisce over the much-loved Spanish performer and recording artist.

A rare footage of the late songstress performing an English version of her hit, ‘Bidi Bidi Bom Bom’ has been unearthed – and its all kinds of amazing.

‘Bidi Bidi Bom Bom’ was released as the second single from Selena’s fourth studio album, back in 1994. While the original song is in Spanish, the English version of the same took inspiration from the late songstress singing “Itty Bitty Bubble’ in the studio, during a soundcheck.

Written about a bubbly fish swimming across the ocean, the song later turned to the subject of the racy heartbeats of a person attracted to someone they love.

Twenty Two years after the singer’s untimely passing, the rare footage of her singing ‘Itty Bitty Bubble’ surfaces again.

‘Bidi Bidi Bom Bom’ later went on to become the most played Latin song of 1996, also winning a Tejano Music award for ‘Song Of The Year.’

The song is often used for paying homage to the late singer, performed and covered by the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, Kat Von D and several others.
