Mass shooting at Texas Church: At least 27 reported to be dead

Tragedy has struck United States again, as a gunman is reported to have opened fire at a Texan church, killing as many as 27 people on the spot.

The attack took place at the Sutherland Springs’ Baptist Church in Texas, late on Sunday morning when the gunman opened fire, leaving several people wounded and dead – including himself.

Early reports stated that as many as 15 people had been shot, while the police later confirmed that the gunman had also been taken down. Around 12:OO PT – it was confirmed that at least 27 people had been reported to have died following the shooting.

The church has a common occupancy of around 50 people on regular Sundays.

President Trump has also tweeted with a statement, sending out his thoughts and prayers to the victims.

“May God be w/ the people of Sutherland Springs, Texas,” he wrote. “The FBI & law enforcement are on the scene. I am monitoring the situation from Japan.”
