Mariah Carey has been nominated to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame.
The Billboard queen, who has produced a large number of chart-topping classics singularly penned by her, will be contesting against over 15 other artists – who have received initial nods for a possible inclusion in next year’s class of inductees.
Other performing artists, who Carey will be seen competing against, for an inclusion in next year’s batch, include – Tracy Chapman, Alice Cooper, the Isley Brothers, N.W.A, John Mellencamp, Jimmy Cliff, Chrissie Hynde, Alan Jackson, Kool & the Gang, Tom Waits and Tom T. Hall, while non-performing songwriter nominees include names like – William “Mickey” Stevenson, Bill Anderson, Jermaine Dupri and Maurice Starr.
Fingers crossed for Ms. Carey.
