Man marries the love of his life on her sickbed - only moments before she dies
A terminally ill woman in Connecticut got her last wishes fulfilled, as she said her vows to the man in her life, while laying on her sick-bed.
Heather Mosher recited her wedding vows on 22 December 2017 with her boyfriend, Dave Mosher at Connecticut's St. Francis Hospital - only a few moments before she passed away.
"Nobody thought she would've made it that far. She proved them all wrong and that's what that photo says to me." Dave told WFSB. "It reminds me of someone who is crossing the finish line of a marathon or something," he added.
The two had met back in 2015 and remained in a steady relationship since then. Almost a year later, on 23rd December 2016, the couple found out about Heather's sickness. She suffered from an advanced stage of breast cancer and it was terminal. Without wasting a moment further, Dave proposed Heather and made his vows official before her passing.
"She didn't know I was going to propose that night, but I said to myself, she needs to know she's not going to go down this road alone," he said.
Dave further explained how Heather's love gave him the strength to "fight till the end":
"She's my great love, and I'm going to lose her, but I'm not losing her forever. Heather said, 'I want to keep fighting,' so that's the mantra I'm picking up. She was able to fight until the end, I'm going to fight until my end."
We're not crying, you are.
