Missy Elliot, Mariah Carey Nominated For ‘Songwriters Hall Of Fame’

Both Missy Elliot and Mariah Carey have churned out many hits through their incredible songwriting skills, and they may finally get some serious recognition for the same.

Carey and Elliot have both been nominated for the 2019’s class of ‘Songwriters Hall Of Fame’ alongside the likes of – Chrissie Hynde, Vince Gill, Mike Love, Jimmy Cliff, Jeff Lynne, Cat Stevens, John Prine, Lloyd Price, Tommy James and the Eurythmics (Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart).

 

This also makes Elliot the first female rapper to be nominated for the prestigious honor – but it’s still a long road before the ‘final six’ – whose names will forever be inducted in the Hall, get revealed next year in June.



 

The voting is to be done by eligible members of the panel, who will complete their assessment till December, choosing three non-performing and three performing artists as their favorites.

The official induction of the year’s winners will take place in New York on June 13th at the Hall’s 50th Gala.
