DJ Khaled has released the first posthumous piece of recently deceased rapper, Nipsey Hussle and it is certain to leave you with all kinds of feels.
Filmed shortly before Hussle was brutally shot and killed Los Angeles, the music video for Khalid’s latest feature, ‘Higher’ also features Grammy and Tony award winner, John Legend.
The visual has mostly been shot in Inglewood, California and has an overall retro-vibe to it, as the trio can be seen passing on the message of peace and unity.
Speaking on Hussle and the song earlier this week, here’s what Khaled wrote on social media:
“The very title of the song reminds us that vibrating on a ‘Higher’ level was the essence of Nipsey’s soul,” Khaled wrote in his statement posted on social media. “It is in this spirit, of moving forward, of preserving his mission that I, my co-writers, producers and label partners are donating 100 percent of all our proceeds from ‘Higher’ to [Nipsey’s] children, Emani and Kross.”
