Ariana Grande Chokes Up While Performing ‘Thank You, Next’ in Mac Miller’s Hometown!

Ariana Grande was caught off-guard in her feelings when she recently took the stage to perform at her late friend and former boyfriend, Mac Miller’s hometown.

The ‘7 Rings’ hitmaker was doing a show in Pittsburgh earlier this month when she apparently got choked up while singing her hit song – ‘Thank You, Next’ – which talks about a number of her past relationships, including the one with Miller.

As you would guess, it was when Ari was singing the lyric – ‘Wish I could say thank you to Malcom, coz he was an angel’ – when the singer/songwriter was clearly moved, causing her to fumble midway, following which the audience helped her finish the rest of the line, while wildly cheering for the two.

As another form of respect, Grande also left a seat vacant in Miller’s name while the auditorium echoed with his music as an intro to the show, before she took the stage to perform her setlist.

Mac Miller died of a suspected drug overdose back in September 2018. He had also collaborated with Grande on one of her first major hits, ‘The Way.’
