Lil Nas Breaks Billboard Record for Most Weeks at #1, Leaving Behind Mariah Carey

Just as it was previously guessed, Lil Nas has finally taken over Mariah Carey – breaking her 20 year old legendary record.

The rapper’s breakthrough hit collaboration ‘Old Town Road’ has now spent a whopping 17 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 charts, beating out Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s 1995 hit single, ‘One Sweet Day’, which held the record till now, having spent an unprecedented 16 weeks on the top.

Nas has released a number of remixes of this bop, with various contemporary Pop artists – which has contributed to its success on the charts. The rapper has certainly made a place in history books with this particular record.

Mariah, on the other hand, seems unfazed by the record being broken as she had recently been quizzed about being bothered with the same, replying with a simple : “Darling, no.”
