Whitney Houston Re-enters Billboard Hot 100 Charts After 10 Years, With ‘Higher Love’ Remake!

The late and great Whitney Houston has found a place at this week’s Billboard Hot 100 charts, after the release of her previously shelved track, ‘Higher Love.’

Geared to debut at #63 on this week’s Hot 100, the diva’s collaboration with Norwegian DJ, Kygo marks her first entry on the US Singles charts in nearly 10 years (not counting the re-entry of her previous singles immediately after her death in 2012).

The songstress’ last entry on the Billboard Hot 100 was with Million Dollar Bill – from her last studio album, I Look To You, which peaked at number 100 back in 2009.

Houston’s ‘previously unreleased’ version of the track was recorded back in the year 1990, after the original version from Steve Winwood had already peaked at #1 in 1986.

Interestingly, the following year Winwood’s chart-topper competed against Houston’s own #1 from her debut album, ‘Greatest Love Of All’ for the Record Of The Year Grammy and won in the final race.

The re-entry of this ‘resurfaced’ version from Houston, courtesy of Kygo, certainly marks a rare feat on the charts, because of all of the reasons above.
