Faith Evans Shares How Whitney Houston Supported Her After Biggie’s Passing, ‘An Unlikely Friendship’

The way things have turned out since her passing, it seems Whitney Houston wasn’t just a global icon with a musical catalogue and influence so strong that it affected millions across the world, but as a person – she seemed to have had the same effects among people who happened to be a part of her personal life.

Everyone who speaks about Whitney, speaks of her kindness, generosity and motherly nature and the recent tell-all’s couldn’t be any different.

As her old friend and confidante Robyn Crawford continues to tell her side of the story, speaking about the woman behind the voice, former collaborator and friend, Faith Evans also seems to have a lot to say on the subject.

The RnB singer who appeared with Houston on her 1998-released worldwide hit – Heartbreak Hotel, is seen in TVOne’s upcoming documentary ‘Uncensored’, talking about how she formed an unlikely close friendship with someone, she distantly idolised at one point.

Their first interaction took place at Clive Davis’ infamous pre-Grammy party, where Whitney approached her by singing one of her songs, and quickly embraced her with her warmth. Following that, she always made a point to approach her first in social gatherings.

In a snippet from the TV special, Faith talks about how Whitney was one of those people who reached out to her after the passing of Biggie Smalls, to ensure she was alright.

In an intimate discussion about the life of Houston, Evans also discussed about attending high-profile parties with Houston at the residence of Donatella Versace in the late 90’s, where they would often hook themselves up on cannabis.

But like most people who knew her, her fondest memories remain of ‘Whitney – the girl from Jersey.’
