Pete Davidson: “Women in Entertainment Use Gay Men as Props”

Pete Davidson feels gay men are being used as ‘props’ in the Pop industry.

Calling out, particularly the ‘female Pop stars’ of the music biz, the comedian and actor reflected on the subject during his recent feature on the PAPER magazine, hinting at the exploitation of gay men by the hands of their favourite female artists.

Here’s what he has been quoted as speaking on the subject:

“I really feel like I have to be careful when I’m saying this, but I do feel like a lot of women in entertainment use gay men as props. If you really listen to any of the songs that they’re doing, or any of the things that they’re doing, it’s to promote them[selves]. It’s rarely for the LGBT community. It’s to make them look good. Like, how cool they are that they’re hanging out with gay people.”

While this may not entirely be untrue, considering how some of the leading Pop stars have indeed tried to sell LGBT sexuality as a prop (a la Katy Perry’s I Kissed A Girl), but it would be more interesting to hear – which female stars is he specifically speaking about?

Is this a jibe at ex, Ariana Grande?

Have your say…
