Mariah Carey has had all the reasons to celebrate the past couple of days, as her 25 year old recording of ‘All I Want For Christmas’ has earned the singer her 19th #1 on the Billboard charts.
And while it officiates the fact that she’s indeed the Queen of Christmas, MC isn’t quite done yet – when it comes to pushing the track even further.
With a new and revamped music video of the holiday classic out, Carey has also appeared on the cover of Billboard magazine’s latest issue, in which she’s opening up about a lot of topics from her career’s past. One of that is her alleged feud with the late and great Whitney Houston, and their 1998-released Oscar winning duet.
Here’s what she said about their ground-breaking recording of ‘When You Believe’:
“Working with Whitney was an experience I’ll never forget. It was a bonding experience. Before that when we did the video, we really put all the rumors and nonsense behind us that there was a feud.”
Carey, who’s always cited Houston as one of her influences in music, further stated:
“Once we knew each other, we had the best time together and I was honored to work with her. I’m really proud that we had this moment together.”
And we are proud of the existence of the most divalicous duet in history:
