Dwyane Wade Says He Feared Gabrielle Union Would Die After Several Pregnancies and Miscarriages

Dwayne Wade feared for wife Gabrielle Union’s life after she went through multiple pregnancies and miscarriages.

The former basketball player spoke about the issues related to the duo’s family planning in his recent ESPN documentary – ‘Life Unexpected.’

The 38 year old spoke about the trouble he and Union had gone through while conceiving and how it led them to a point, where it became a matter of life and death.

Here’s what he was quoted telling in the same:

“I’m watching my wife go through a lot physically. You’re sitting in with the doctors and they’re like, ‘You can do this and that, but the risk of you surviving. Oh wait, now I might lose you in this process.’”

He further added:

“There’s not only one way to have your family. We started having conversations and we were like, ‘What are the other options — and the other became surrogacy.’”

Not putting her life at risk, the duo mutually decided to go for surrogacy and welcomed a baby girl on November 7th, 2018.

Before the birth of their daughter Kaavia James Wade, Gabby apparently had to go through about 8 to 9 miscarriages, which took a toll on her body and health.

We’re glad things eventually worked out for the two of them.
