Jay Z and Beyonce may have just remained in the stands to witness the most anticipated sports-musical amalgamation of the year, but they still managed to make the strongest political statement of the show.
The husband-wife duo apparently chose to remain seated during the performance of American National Anthem, as sung by Demi Lovato during the game’s halftime.
TMZ reports that both Jay and Bey along with their daughter Blue, were spotted sitting, while the Star Spangled Banner was played out, as other around them stood in the arena.
Its even more interesting, since Jay had recently received backlash for partnering with NFL for a joint venture, despite, their friend, Colin Kaepernick’s stand against the league, fighting racial discrimination.
Jay and Bey, just re-affirmed that they’re very much ‘in the fight’, when it comes to issues related to racial profiling and police brutality.
