Bohemian Rhapsody Screenwriter Roped-In For Whitney Houston’s First Official Big-Screen Biopic!

Just as the world prepared to witness the first official biopic based on the life of Aretha Franklin, a biopic on an equally cherished departed musical legend is on the way.

Whitney Houston’s estate has fast-paced putting together the pieces to create the late diva’s first official biopic, for which the directors and screenwriters have already been decided.

The untitled project, being created under the wings of Houston’s long-time mentor – Clive Davis, will be directed by Canadian filmmaker – Stella Meghie, who’s known for movies like The Photograph and The Weekend.

More interestingly, the team behind Houston’s estate have also roped-in Anthony McCarten – to write the screenplay of the musical saga, and it helps put more points on the team’s credibility and viewer’s expectations.

McCarten has previously been nominated for four Academy awards and has written for multiple Oscar nominated movies like Bohemian Rhapsody, The Two Popes, Darkest Hour and The Theory Of Everything.

Primary Wave Music – which previously partnered with Houston’s estate, has played a key role in this deal.

What would be even more interesting to see – is the lead actress, they pick, to play the lead role.

This is going to be the most exciting biopic of next year!
