CeeLo Green Apologises After Calling Out ‘WAP’ and Female Rappers For ‘Sexual Content’

This past week CeeLo green was in news for commenting on the recently released hot visual for Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B’s, WAP.

The RnB singer and performer was apparently not happy with the display of female nudity and sexuality and called out the likes of Nicki Minaj, Cardi B and Megan over the same.

After receiving much backlash for his comments, which people were quick to term – ‘sexist’, Green has taken a U-turn to apologise for the same.

Here’s what he was quoted as saying on his Instagram:

“There seems to be a misunderstanding with a quote taken from an interview I did a few days ago while promoting my new project. Firstly, I’m an advocate of artistic freedom and expression as well as a fan of Nicki, Cardi & Meagan. I know most of them personally and consider Cardi & Offset family. Therefore, I would never disrespect them all as powerful, beautiful and influential women … and professionals.”

He further added:

“I wholeheartedly apologize to each of them for the inconvenience they have been caused due to a snippet of my interview being used as a headline, and in turn creating controversy and disconnect between me and these ladies as well as their fans.”

Taking a complete reversal from his previous stance, which had come out after the release of the sultry ‘WAP’ video, CeeLo further concluded his new stand on this, stating:

“Know that I support everyone who is part of our community & culture. Always have and always will! Much love to all of the female artists who are running the game and handling their business.”

Okay CeeLo!

This lived and died before Nicki and Cardi could have even responded.

Seems like their stan-bases handled it for them, this time around.
