CeeLo Green Says Sexual Content in Today’s Female Rap Seems ‘Desperate’

CeeLo green has name-dropped and called out a number of female rappers of today, for being overtly sexual in their music and videos.

The RnB singer, was apparently triggered by the new visual for Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s sultry new hit – ‘WAP’, which is assisted with a racy and sexually suggestive music video, released this past week.

Green, who doesn’t seem too happy with all the skin show, was quoted telling the following in a recent interview with Far Out Magazine:

“We are adults. There should be a time and a place for adult content. As adults and artists, we should at least attempt to be each other’s accountability partners in some regard. The stereotypes that are celebrated and perpetuated, ultimately make the perception a reality. It is disenfranchising and it has caused a great deal of problems.”

He further called out Nicki Minaj, stating that she could do more with her popularity and influence than just skin-show:

“You have the ‘Heads of State,’ like Nicki Minaj or someone who is up there in accolade: success, visibility, a platform to influence. Nicki could be effective in so many other constructive ways, but it feels desperate.”

He then went on to name-drop Cardi and Megan, calling them out for the display of same kind of sexuality:

“Attention is also a drug and competition is around. Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, they are all more or less doing similar salacious gesturing to kinda get into position. I get it, the independent woman and being in control, the divine femininity and sexual expression. I get it all but it comes at what cost?”

Wonder what Nicki and Cardi will have to say, considering the male rappers of today are also on the same page, when it comes to sexually objectifying women.

Why single out the females then?
