Elton John: “Most Of The Records In The Charts Today Are Not Real Songs”

Elton John has once again called out the state of music today.

The legendary Pop/Rock performer was recently heard talking about the kind of songs often seen at the top of the charts today and how they’re not really ‘proper’ songs in his syes.

In conversation with BBC Radio 6, here’s what he said on the subject:

“You look at most of the records in the charts – they’re not real songs. They’re bits and pieces and it’s nice to hear someone write a proper song.”

He further added:

“There’s also a boy called Conan Gray who is the only person in the American Spotify Top 50 to actually write a song without anybody else. For everybody else there’s four or five writers on a track.”

Elton had previously irked some new generation of music lovers, by criticising Beyonce’s redoing of the new Lion King soundtrack, which he had done for the original animated flick.

His latest musical appearance was in Lady Gaga’s Chromatica album
