Yes, you’ve been seeing her on reality shows and giving live performances on TV every now and than, but the singer’s last studio album was released almost 5 years ago, back in 2012. That is quite a gap for someone who’s still got the chops and can still make the most of her talent.
Her previous studio effort, ‘Lotus’ did not perform well on the charts peaking only at #7 and selling less than 80,000 units in it’s first week. The album went to sell merely 289,000 copies in the united states – her lowest sales till date. However that could also be because of lack of promotion, since her sixth studio album, ‘Bionic’, which was released only 2 years before that performed decently worldwide, peaking at #3 on the US albums charts.

Nevertheless, after a 5 year hiatus from the music scene, the ‘Ain’t No Other Man’ songstress posted a video on her Social Media which included several short clips of her being in the studio, getting ready for a shoot and personal time with family.
The video captioned, “grateful for every second of every day”, hinted towards new material being recorded by the Grammy winning superstar and has sent her fans in jittery.

It’s great to finally hear ‘some’ sort of update. We can’t wait to hear more music from her.
