‘Black-ish’ actress Yara Shahidi to join Harvard for further education

Yara Shahidi, who is best known for her role on ABC’s popular sitcom, ‘Black-ish’ is all set to join Harvard University in fall of 2018.

The 17 year old actress has plans to further her education after Barrack and Michelle Obama wrote her a letter of recommendation as the Harvard aspirant, revealed back in March.

Quoting famous playwright and author, James Baldwin, Sahidi wrote on her Instagram account, “The paradox of education is precisely this — that as one to become conscious one begins to examine the society in which he is being educated,” she quoted James Baldwin.

Shahidi will first finish off her starring role in the upcoming ‘Spin-off’ off ‘Black-ish’, entitled ‘College-ish’, which will air on Freeform.

“I’ve been working more than half of my life and that’s always been balanced with school and all of the other responsibilities, so to have a year to focus on work and to focus on specified interests will be nice before I pick a career and choose what I want to study and my life path,” the actress said.

Sending all the best wishes to Yara in her new pursuit.

You get it girl.
