18 year old Victoria Mario from UK got herself some major financial help from Taylor Swift, as the latter paid for entire tuition fee to help her carry out her college education.
Mario had earlier created a GoFundMe page to pursue her educational dream, elaborating her situation and her aspirations to study at the prestigious University of Warwick.
“I may not be able to attend university due to my circumstances,” she stated in her GoFundMe description, seeking donations for her further education. “I have lived in the U.K. for 4 years now, after migrating from Portugal to live with family in Tottenham. The socio-economic barriers of not being eligible for maintenance loans/grants is due not only to not having ‘Home’ status, but also because my family are low income, and unable to help me self-fund through university.”
She also stated how things have become more difficult for her, since her father passed away.
The campaign then caught the attention of Taylor, who not only made a humble donation of $30,000 but also wrote the following message on the campaign:
“Victoria, I came across your story online and I am so inspired by your drive and dedication to turn your dreams into reality. I want to give you the rest of your goal amount and good luck with everything you do! Love, Taylor.”
