8 years after coming out, Ricky Martin has finally tied the knot with his long-term partner Jwan Yosef.
Making the announcment to E! News, the singer and actor said that that he’s “now a husband” to Yosef and they will soon be hosting “a heavy party in a couple of months.”
“We’ve exchanged vows, and we swear everything, and we signed all the papers that we needed to sign — prenups and everything,” Ricky told Will Marfuggi of E! News.
Speaking more on the post-wedding celebrations, the ‘Livin La Vida’ hitmaker said that it will be a “typical three-day get-together.”
“The dinner, the rehearsal, the party and the recovery.”
Ricky Martin had first spoken about his engagement to Yosef during a 2016 interview with Ellen DeGeneres, in which the singer also revealed how he actually got down on his knees!
“I was really nervous,” he told DeGeneres, “but I got on my knees, and I took out the little metal box. I just had it in a little velvet pouch. And instead of saying, ‘Would you marry me?’ I said, ‘I got you something!’ Bad! And then he was like, ‘Yes?’ I said, ‘I want to spend my life with you,’ and he was like, ‘What is the question?’ I said, ‘Would you marry me?’ That’s it.’”

After several years of speculations and questions surrounding his sexual orientation, Martin had first come out to the public in a post published on his official website almost 8 years ago.
“I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am,” he announced.
“These years in silence and reflection made me stronger and reminded me that acceptance has to come from within and that this kind of truth gives me the power to conquer emotions I didn’t even know existed.”
