Frankie Beverly is on cloud 9 after Beyonce covered and released his song ‘Before I Let Go’ on her new ‘Homecoming’ Live album.
The Maze frontman whose original version of the track was released in 1995 , said that he considered the superstar’s cover of his song – one of the high points of his life and career.
While speaking to Billboard, Frankie revealed how hadn’t even heard about the news of Knowles covering his song until 2 or 3 weeks prior to the release of the project. And as expected, he was blown away when he first heard the finished cut.
“When they played it, that’s when I heard the first draft of it, and I was blown away,” he said. Also asserting how the cover is “one of the high points of my life.”
