Now it is time for Brandy to receive some honor from her peers.
The RnB songstress, who produced a string of hits in the 90’s, will get a tribute at the 2019 BMI R&B and Hip-Hop Awards.
The 40 year old singer-songwriter, was recently announced as this year’s recipient of the honor, for her ‘timeless hits’ and music.
BMI Vice president, Catherine Brewton, spoke on the honoree, calling her a ‘triple threat’ for her diverse artistic accomplishments.
Here’s what she said:
“As a singer/songwriter, actress and humanitarian, Brandy is a triple thread in every sense of the word.” Her timeless hits about love and heartbreak were anthems to many coming of age during the 90s and secured her place in R&B history. We are so excited to honor Brandy with the BMI President’s Award and look forward to celebrating a night of great music.”
BMI aims to honor composers and songwriters, who’ve made a significant accomplishments in the world of music. Brandy will receive her honor later this month on the 29th.
