“I Feel Defeated” – Iggy Azalea Speaks On Her Comeback Failure

Iggy Azalea has apparently taken the average reception of her comeback album to her heart.

The ‘Fancy’ rapper, who had a string of hits to her name, courtesy of her debut album, ‘The New Classic’ back in 2014 – could not revive the same chart-success with her sophomore attempt.

Azalea, who struggled to release her second studio album for years, due to several issues with her label, despite having produced a platinum seller, did not yield the same numbers with ‘In My Defense’ when it finally hit the store.

Iggy released the effort as an independent unsigned artist, after having left Island records – but the album could only make its way to the 50th spot on the Billboard charts, selling a little over 8000 copies.

The femcee took to Twitter to share her disappointment, but also insisting that she’ll keep on fighting.

Here’s what she said:

“Two weeks till I’m back in the studio! Woke up today feeling a little defeated, ending the day feeling motivated.”

She further added:

“I think sometimes I feel defeated because I look at the chart and see how much streaming impacts it, and think how can I win when I’m up against THAT? But I also feel like okay and? There are two options. Quit. Or shut up and just keep fighting.”

“So I’ll keep on fighting!”
