A 3 year old girl was shot and killed by her father, before he took his own life, in a tragic incident this past week.
The shocking tragedy took place in Florida when the man, Terrence Jackson, came to pick her daughter, Cherish, up to take her to the store. As she came running towards him, Jackson uttered a few words and pointed a gun at her head – shooting her twice from a close range.
The 22 year old man was separated from his wife, and regularly came to pick their daughter up on Saturdays from her mother’s house.
The neighbours, who witnessed the incident described the horrifying account as Jackson walked barely 100 meters outside the house, before shooting his daughter in the head. Minutes later, he pointed the gun at himself and took his own life.
“Both bodies were laying in teh street. It was horrifying,” a neighbour said.
It isn’t clear why Jackson had to resort to killing himself and his daughter, but the incident has certainly left the locality stunned.
“She fought hard to stay here with us. It just wasn’t meant for her to be,” Case Scott, Cherish’s mother said of her – after she succumbed to her injuries at a nearby hospital.
