Cissy Houston Did Not Approve Of Whitney Houston’s Relationship With Robyn Crawford

Cissy Houston was one of few people close to Whitney Houston, who did not approve of the idea of the late songstress being in a relationship with another woman.

Robyn Crawford, who befriended the late star when she was just 17, writes in her book, how Whitney was concerned about her mother not being “OK” with their affair, stating it wasn’t ‘natural’ for two women to be that close.

Coming from a devout Christian household, it wasn’t easy for Houston to come in terms with her attraction herself and Cissy never hesitated in speaking her mind on the subject either.

“Whitney told me her mother said it wasn’t natural for two women to be that close…but we were that close,” Robyn writes in her book.

Previously in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, soon after Whitney’s passing, the Houston matriarch stated how she would not have been ok to find that her daughter was ‘gay’ – much to the talk show queen’s surprise.

Houston’s half-brother, Gary Garland was also previously heard disapproving of Robyn, in the estate’s first official documentary released last year.

With Robyn finally telling her side of the story, we may finally get a clearer picture of what actually went behind the curtains and how, perhaps, it may have contributed to the icon’s personal downfall in the end.
