Beyonce Talks About Suffering From Miscarriages & How The Meaning Of ‘Success’ Changed For Her!

Beyonce appears on the cover of ELLE magazine’s latest issue and the star is also opening about her personal life without any inhibitions. Something you don’t see her do, that often.

The star of Disney’s The Lion King was probed with a number of questions taken from social media, and she spoke about it all in detail. From motherhood to marriage to miscarriages…

A question which came from Instagram, asked if being snubbed by mainstream awards shows upsets her and it made her delve into her journey into motherhood and suffering from a number of miscarriages before having her first child – Blue Ivy.

Beyonce beautifully states how her personal experiences changed what ‘success’ meant for her in her professional life, thereby reducing the significance of any award.

Here’s how the singer and performer responded:

“I began to search for deeper meaning when life began to teach me lessons I didn’t know I needed,” she states. “Success looks different to me now. I learned that all pain and loss is in fact a gift. Having miscarriages taught me that I had to mother myself before I could be a mother to someone else. Then I had Blue, and the quest for my purpose became so much deeper.”

She further stated:

“I died and was reborn in my relationship, and the quest for self became even stronger. It’s difficult for me to go backwards. Being ‘number one’ was no longer my priority. My true win is creating art and a legacy that will live far beyond me. That’s fulfilling.”

When quizzed about the question that irritates her the most, Beyonce responded with:

‘Are you pregnant? …Get off my ovaries!’
