Lizzo Named TIME Magazine’s ‘Entertainer Of The Year’

Lizzo has added another major feather to her hat.

The energetic performer and multi-talented musician has been named ‘Entertainer Of The Year’ by none other than TIME magazine.

Covering the reputed publication’s latest issue, Lizzo seems to be ending an already-fantastic year on an extremely high note.

The singer, who gained notoriety after her 2016 and 2017 released tracks suddenly went viral and became major sleeper hits for her, has certainly come a long way in a short span of time. With a 3 year old track becoming her signature hit and topping the Billboard charts – it has certainly been a year of tasting the fruit of perseverance for Lizzo.

Here’s what TIME had to say about her while bestowing her with the grand title:

“Lizzo does represent something new. Her sound is relentlessly positive and impossibly catchy: bangers that synthesize pop, rap and R&B, with hooks so sharp it feels like they’ve been in your brain forever. Her lyrics are funny, bawdy and vulnerable: reminders to dump whatever idiot is holding you back and become your own biggest fan.

Attending a Lizzo concert feels like worshipping at the church of self-love, if your preacher was a pop star living joyfully in a big black body, delivering a sermon of self-acceptance that’s as frank as it is accessible.”

Imagine, being almost a niche artist and being far from mainstream fame in the start of 2019 to being named the ‘Entertainer Of The Year’ by the end of it.

That’s the power of internet.

Congratulations to Lizzo.
