Bette Midler Says Justin Timberlake Should Apologise To Janet Jackson

Bette Midler says that Justin Timberlake should issue a formal and public apology to Janet Jackson for the notorious wardrobe malfunction incident from 2004, that mostly just threw Jackson under the bus.

Why bring it up now?

Well, Justin – who was recently “caught” holding hands with a female colleague, while at a work location, had to issue a public apology to his wife Jessica Biel for his behaviour. He was apparently intoxicated and Twitter called him out for the act.

Bette took the opportunity to take a jibe at the singer – re-launching the ‘#JusticeForJanet campaign.

Here’s what she said:

“#JustinTimberlake publicly apologized to his wife for holding hands with another actress after having too much to drink, but sez nothing else happened. Who cares? He held another woman’s hand, BFD.”

She then asked:

“So when is Janet Jackson’s boob gonna get an apology? #JusticeForJanet.”

Midler was referring to the “boob-popping” incident from the infamous Super Bowl XXXVIII Halftime show, where Jackson’s wardrobe tore off during the live-telecast, revealing her bare nipples to those watching the show live on television.

While Jackson had to bear most of the flak for it, her co-performer – Justin, who was part of the whole choreography, easily walked away from it all.

Jackson even hesitantly said in an Oprah interview that she felt she was targeted more after the incident than he was and that he sort of left her hanging out there.

Do you think an apology is long-overdue?

Have your say…
