Wendy Williams Apologizes To Joaquin Phoenix After Making Fun Of His Cleft Lip

Wendy Williams is new to the area of dissing celebrities and throwing shade at everything involving the existence of those she doesn’t like.

But the talk-show host went a little too far this time around as she spoke about actor Joaquin Phoenix’s appearance and made a distasteful remark about his cleft-lip scar. Mimicking Phoenix, by pulling her lip up with her finger, Williams managed to make her studio audience chuckle at the ‘joke’, but angered millions on internet.

“When he shaves off his mustache he’s got a hairline fracture,” she said to her audience. “He’s got one of those – what do you call it? Cleft lip, cleft palate.”

People were apparently so outraged by the remark, that they even started an online petition to have her removed from the talk show. And it seems, as an exception, Wendy has stepped back to make an apology.

Here’s what she said on Twitter after the whole fiasco:

“I apologize to the cleft community and in Beau’s honor, our show is donating to @operationsmile and @AmerCleftPalate and encourage our Wendy Watchers to learn more and help support the cleft community.”

Do you forgive her?

Have your say…
