Jojo Speaks On How Her Contract as a Teen Ruined Her Music Career & Sent Her Into Depression

After a long hiatus from the music scene, Jojo is striking back like never before.

The talented singer and performer, who enjoyed brief success as a budding teen artist back in the early 2000’s – was thence bound by such contractual obligations and faced with such “typical-music-industry” exploitation of sorts, that she went into, somewhat of an oblivion.

The 29 year old recently dished on her roller-coaster of a ride with showbiz, courtesy of her past label and how they tried to control her as an artist and an individual. The fight became so stiff that she ended up loosing dozens of recorded projects, leading her to the path of depression and substance abuse.

In a recent tell-all interview, the ‘Leave (Get Out)’ singer spoke about several things which were a part of her journey so far – including her childhood and upbringing, her tryst with Blackground Records, battling depression and more.

Good to know she’s finally managed to land on solid ground, putting everything in the back-burner.

Let us look forward to her new music!
