Indian Parents Name Their Newborn Twins ‘Corona’ and ‘Covid’

Parents of two newborns in India decided that it was a good idea to name their offsprings after the deadly virus that has taken over the world, claiming thousands of lives.

Preeti Verma and Vimay Verma – who were blessed with twins this past week at the Ambedkar Memorial Hospital in Raipur, have named their newborns – ‘Corona’ and ‘Covid’, after the pandemic-causing virus.

The proud father of the two believes the names will “spread happiness, not fear” into the world.

Preeti was quoted telling local newspapers that she faced difficulties while giving birth to the twins and hence decided that the event should be ‘memorable’ – and naming them after the virus, was the way to go for the newly-turned parents.

While people on social media have had differing opinions on the matter, the couple seems to be happy with their choice.
