Jenifer Lewis Remembers Whitney Houston With a Cute Story Of Her Being Stuck in a Blizzard

Jenifer Lewis – Whitney Houston’s on-screen mother, shared just as much chemistry with her off the camera, as she did in their hilarious and heart-warming Christmas classic – The Preacher’s Wife.

Lewis, who has often spoken in high regard about Whitney and her enormous vocal talent, remembered the late diva during her recent conversation on TV One’s ‘Uncensored.’

The iconic actress remembered how she kept it blunt while responding to Whitney, as she would ask her about her act in front of the camera, and how it was a privilege having heard her voice up, close and personal, during their movie-shoots.

“To be sitting that close and hearing her sing, the genre of music that she had been raised with – Gospel. The trills in her voice, the riffs, the range, the beauty, the soul – her beauty, it was a sight to see.” – she said.

The actress remembered how one time she didn’t show-up during a shoot when there was a record-breaking blizzard out there, and Lewis had already spent hours on her hair with the make-up team, only to find-out that they’ll have to re-do it, as Whitney couldn’t come.

The ‘Jackie’s Back’ actress remembered, how it drove her frustrated as she rung Whitney up, only to find she was stuck at her home and couldn’t open her garage due to the gate apparently being blocked by the blizzard.

The 63 year old then remembers, how Whitney would often refer to as ‘mama’ even off the camera.

Hear it in her own inimitable fashion, as she reflects back on her memories with the legend and also her untimely passing:

Jenifer Lewis makes the simplest of stories sound so interesting. The ‘actress’ truly resides within her, 24×7.
