Alicia Keys Pays Tribute To Whitney Houston By Singing ‘Million Dollar Bill’ For The First Time

Alicia Keys is one of the most renowned singer-songwriters of showbiz, who has lent many hits to some of the biggest pop stars in her wake.

One of those names was – Whitney Houston.

The Grammy winning singer had collaborated with the late Pop Titan, in the latter’s last studio album ‘I Look To You’, writing a song entitled ‘Million Dollar Bill’, which served as the first single from the critically acclaimed LP.

Keys, who has always maintained how Houston was one of her main inspirations as an artist, has given several tributes to the diva – but never really performed the song she wrote for her.

That changed in 2020, as the ‘If I Ain’t Got You’ singer took part in a special UK broadcast for New Year celebrations, singing the upbeat tune, co-produced by Swizz Beatz.

Watch the piece from her mini-virtual concert in UK below:

Here’s the original from the legendary songstress, Miss Houston, herself:

The song was originally a bigger success in the UK than in the US, back in 2009 – so it would be interesting to see if it takes back to the charts after this showing.
