Nicole Scherzinger’s ‘Don’t Cry For Me Argentina’ Proves Why We Need a Solo Vocal Album From Her!

Nicole Scherzinger is truly one of the most underrated and under-utilized vocalists of today.

The powerhouse singer, who gained worldwide notoriety, as the front-woman of ‘Pussycat Dolls’, had a lot more to offer than what the world perceived initially, with how the band was presented in the start.

Breaking away from the image of being known as ‘that sex-symbol’ of PCD, Nicole has constantly proven her metal as a vocalist, venturing into the realms of classical and Broadway music, in her occasional live appearances.

One such mind-blowing performance took place in the year 2013, when Nicole participated in “Andrew Lloyd Webber: 40 Musical Years”, a tribute show for the man behind many Broadway classics, like ‘Cats’ and ‘The Phantom Of The Opera’, for a UK telecast.

Nicole chose to perform the ‘Evita’ classic – ‘Don’t Cry For Me Argentina’, and her performance was so beautifully crafted and sung with such accuracy and detail, that it still totally blows our minds.

Every single delicate note in the beginning, and proper execution of each note at every line’s end – shows how much work she put into her craft. Her expressions and her theatrical on-stage manners, showcase her being ‘in character’ through the end of the song.

The performance is one of the many such examples, which can be seen and heard online, that prove how we’re still missing out on a proper vocal album, consisting of power ballads, from her.

Although several singing legends have covered this timeless classics during all these years, yet Nicole’s flawless rendition ranks right at the top, alongside the likes of Elaine Paige and Karen Carpenter.

Bring it on, Nicole!

We definitely need more Broadway classics in her voice.
